What Is an Energy Audit?
The goal of an energy audit is to help homeowners reduce energy consumption while improving comfort, health and safety of the people living in the home. Recommendations from your energy audit provide a blueprint for making smart purchases and home improvements that maximize energy efficiency and save the most money.
Our auditors are RESNET trained and Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified. They use specialized equipment and techniques to evaluate your home and make recommendations. You will receive a comprehensive report that includes all elements of the “building envelope” – walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors and much more. For each of these components, the area resistance to heat flow is measured to search for the leakage rate or infiltration of air.
Some of the greatest effects on energy usage are behavior – so we take a peek at your energy billing history too.
