Over 60 people attended the event and were treated to a free continental breakfast and a tour of the company’s solar system that was designed and installed by Solar Energy World’s employees. Tope LaLa, owner of Solar Energy World led the tour and explained to workshop participants how the solar energy system produces electricity and how a similar, scaled down system can work for a home
Laureen Peck, Vice President of Marketing for Solar Energy World, spoke on the environmental benefits of clean solar energy, the state of green jobs in the US and the solar energy industry’s growth and introduced the workshop instructor, Senior Solar Analyst Brent Cotton who led the classroom portion of the workshop. Cotton spent more than 70 minutes answering homeowners’ questions on how to obtain solar grants, financial incentives and tax breaks, how a solar system generates income and how to calculate the return on investment from the purchase or lease of a solar system.
Anonymous reviews were requested at the close of the workshop and participants were asked to rate the workshop on quality of the content and other factors. All of the survey participants answered “yes” to the question, “Would you recommend this to other homeowners?” In addition, 98% gave the workshop the highest rating of excellent for quality of content and expertise of the workshop instructor, Brent Cotton.
