Solar Power World has recognized regional residential solar installer, Solar Energy World, for its 2020 installation success on their 2021 Top 400 Solar Contractors list. The Top Solar Contractors list is developed each year by Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers in the United States. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by number of kilowatts installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific service, markets and states.
Solar Energy World held on to its number 1 position for residential rooftop installations in Maryland for the 5th year in a row and moved up from number 21 to number 17 for residential rooftop installations in the USA. The company ranks 110 out of a total of 426 solar companies on the list including companies that mainly install large scale commercial and utility contracted solar systems.
The Solar Industry is Booming
The U.S. solar industry had a record year in 2020 despite the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report from the Solar Energy Industries Association and Wood Mackenzie. The report found the industry added a record 19.2 gigawatts of new capacity during 2020, a 43% jump from 2019. The residential market saw an 11% increase, which is remarkable considering the difficulties of maneuvering home solar projects through pandemic precautions. The industry will continue to thrive, thanks to a pro-renewables presidential administration, growing consumer confidence and Americans’ increased concern over climate change.
Solar Energy World has already benefited from these trends and is projecting a 30% increase in new installations in 2021 over 2020.
