Geoff Mirkin has a proven track record of building successful organizations, combined with a passion for the renewable energy industry. Through his leadership, Solar Energy has grown into one of the largest solar integrators in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region. Geoff is the driving force behind sales and growth and is also instrumental in training operations and customer relations.
Prior to becoming co-owner of Solar Energy World, Geoff spent the majority of his career growing Homefix Corporation where he focused on market expansion. Through his efforts Homefix successfully expanded its Maryland operation to cover 6 different states. He purchased one of the Homefix branches and grew sales by more than 80 percent in three years until 2009 when he and his partners launched Solar Energy World.
Mirkin is also on the Board of Directors and a Policy Committee Member of the Maryland/ D.C. Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA). His role in SEIA includes advocating for keeping funding available for Maryland Solar Grants and establishing long term SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credit) value and enhancing net metering laws. Through his leadership SEIA has successfully accelerated and increased the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) in Maryland. He has also been instrumental in fundraising efforts for the board.
Mirkin was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. He currently resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with his wife Franki, daughter Paige and son Max.
