Born and raised in New Jersey, Tope is a 1989 University of Maryland graduate. Tope founded HCR (formerly Homefix Custom Remodeling) in 1990 and grew it to one of the largest home remodeling companies in the country. HCR has exceeded over 100,000 installations in 8 different states and is currently ranked as the 25th largest specialty remodeler in the country.

In 2003 Tope founded Trans One merchant services, a credit card processing company that services merchants over the entire country. He currently sits on its Board of Directors.

In 2009 Tope wrote the business plan and assembled the ownership team that included Geoff Mirkin to found Solar Energy World. Using his 20 years of business experience, Solar Energy World has grown into one of the largest full scale solar system integrators in Maryland and the region. Having installed more than 30 megawatts of solar on both commercial and residential Solar Energy World has quickly become one of the more recognizable names in the solar industry under Tope’s leadership.

Tope lives in Clarksville, Maryland with his wife Melissa and three daughters – Hayley, Sammy, and Jessie.
